Three Blokes revealed as buyers of Central Coast’s Sunken Monkey Hotel
Details on the sale of the Sunken Monkey Hotel have emerged, with CoreLogic data revealing that the Erina pub, which was sold in November last year for an undisclosed amount, has been purchased for $10.6 million by a newly registered company called Three Blokes and a Pub.
The company registered last year right before the pub was purchased by three mates from Sydney – hospitality guru Mitch Rose, who has worked as an Operations Manager for the Coogee Bay Hotel and Rodney and Brett Matterson, brothers that run a Sydney building company, TCQ Construction in Chullora.
Rose, who has been tied to the famous Coogee pub for 13 years, has also managed multi-bar and multi-site hospitality operations including the Bristol Arms and Mean Fiddler Hotels in Sydney.

He says that buying a pub has been a long-held dream for the trio.
The downstairs garden area will be getting a revamp.
“We started talking about it five years ago and when this opportunity popped up, we jumped on it. The Central Coast is going bananas – it is a great investment opportunity,” he says.
The new owner says that from a renovation point of view, the previous owners have done a great job, so they will not be making any big cosmetic changes to the pub.
“The garden downstairs will get a little update and there will be a new menu coming out in a couple of weeks, but it’s still pub-style food. We’ll just be making simple changes, like some new, more authentic Italian-style pizza bases,” Rose says.
In a high exposure position on The Entrance Rd, the hotel on the banks of Erina Creek was previously known as The Woodport Inn and was purchased for $5.25 million back in 2015 bought by four partners, including property investor and real estate agent David Roy who was the majority ¬ shareholder.
