Murray River Queen Paddle Boat, Main Town Wharf,
Renmark, SA 5341
Key property information
Landmark Paddle Boat offering Development Potential
The vessels construction was completed in 1974 and build as a paddle wheel passenger vessel. It underwent a major refit in 2016 where a vast amount of the hull plating was replaced, and the below deck cabins were decommissioned whilst the above deck cabins, lounge, dining room, galley underwent major renovations.
The vessel is currently permanently connected to the wharf in Renmark as a floating hotel. On both port and starboard sides at the amidships of the vessel are located the paddle wheels. The steering arrangement and systems are in good condition but the hydraulics were not tested. The vessel is fitted with 2 x 6 cylinder SCANIA VABIS engines generating hydraulic power for the propulsion of the paddle wheels. These engines will require a rebuild before the vessel engages in sailing operations. There are two generators 1 x 110KVA John Deer located in the engine room and a second 70KVA powered by a SCANIA engine located in the fore peak of the vessel.
Also located in the fore peak is a hydraulic power plant powered by a FORD engine. All these engines will require a major service prior to the vessel engaging in sailing operations. The vessel is connected to shore power and sewage systems. The vessel is fitted out with the required safety and navigation equipment as required by the National Regulator for its class and type of operation. The vessels electrical equipment has been checked and certified to work by a competent person.
