HEAVENLY DUO FIRST TIME OFFERED FOR LEASE IN 160 YEARS. LEASE BOTH OR INDIVIDUALLY - LEASE BY EXPRESSION OF INTEREST.

These grandly sized, unique, state historically significant buildings are located in the commercial heart of Castlemaine, opposite the Art Museum and less than 300 metres from the train station. Both buildings are being offered for lease together or individually. This rare offering presents a remarkable opportunity to repurpose the historically significant Church and Church Hall into a unique and special alternate use.

Originally constructed for the Congregational Church and in recent times used by the Presbyterian Church, this former church complex is of architectural and historical significance to the State of Victoria. It is an intact church complex of the mid 19th century which reflects the prosperity engendered by the gold discoveries in Victoria from the 1850s.

- THE MAIN BUILDING -THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. - Constructed in 1861-62 for the Congregational Church, this stunning building sits on top of the hill and features an imposing street presence with steps from Lyttleton Street flanked by Castlemaine slate.
A Georgian Gothic architectural style brick building with slate roof, the building comprises over 332m2 of internal area. The symmetrical front facade is divided into three bays, with central nave section featuring a triple lancet window adorned with beautiful, coloured glass. Two flanking entrances include timber doors with elaborate wrought iron strap work, and large pinnacles flank the entrance porches and main facade itself. With the altar still intact, the interior of the Church enjoys natural light through numerous paired lancet-coloured windows lining the aisles. Cast iron columns supporting the beautiful Kauri timber ceilings accentuate the grand space. Must be seen to be appreciated.

- ORIGINAL CHURCH HALL BUILDING
Constructed in 1855 as the first brick church in Castlemaine, this Georgian styled building comprises an internal area of 183m2. The main entry porch leads to the large open hall with cathedral timber ceilings with exposed beams, tall arched windows, Baltic floor, a choir gallery and adjoining kitchen/tearoom.

Create a statement with the many options including office space, function venue, restaurant/bar, brewery, retail, government department services, childcare, allied health, community base project or community space (subject to authorities approval). Allocated car parking available and level access from Templeton Street.
