Chris Watt

Chris Watt entered the Real Estate profession in 1976 in the Knox area and was licensed as an Estate Agent in 1984.

He obtained a Certificate of Real Estate Management in 1983 and after two years of additional study in sales, marketing, behavioral studies and conveyancing practice was awarded a Certificate of Business Studies in Real Estate.

The business known today as Century 21 Home Port was established by Chris in 1986.

Chris has personally sold over 2,000 properties of all types in the Hastings, Bittern, Crib Point, and Tyabb townships as well as on French Island by both private treaty and Public Auction.

Chris has been an active member of the REIV for almost 40 years and has serving as a member of the legislation, town planning and forms committee of the Institute.

Elected as a councilor for the Hastings ward of the Shire of Hastings in the early 1990's he served as the Council representative on the Regional Planning body, was chairman of the Library Service and represented the council on the first Port of Hastings Land Use Structure Plan study.

Chris also represented the Western Port Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the Port Land Use and Transport Structure Plan Study (PLUTS) carried out by Maunsel Consulting. The knowledge and contacts made at this time has given Chris a thorough understanding of Town Planning processes.

In 2022 Chris divested the Property Management and Residential sales departments of the business.

These days, along with resident Sales representative Phil Bock, Chris specialises in the sale of all types of properties on French Island.
