It’s been 10 years since Hennessy Real Estate first cast open its doors in Gunnedah. I stood on the precipice of the great unknown, armed only with my nervous excitement and a loan from family. With no team and no clients, I wondered if some sort of temporary insanity had set in.

With blissful ignorance, we set upon the Herculean task of building a business from scratch. Punctuated by euphoric highs and humbling lows, it has certainly been a wild ride. Not to rest on our laurels, two years ago we embraced the opportunity to expand our business into the great community of Narrabri, purchasing Narrabri Real Estate from the Southwell Family.

Narrabri, similar to Gunnedah, is a town built on the same old-fashioned values of family, integrity and community which we knew would be a natural fit with our business ethos.

The business world is a great teacher, even if some of the most valuable lessons come poorly wrapped. The struggles help build resilience, and the good times remind us that it’s worth it.

I believe that we truly do reap what we sow and I’m grateful for the extraordinary efforts of the wonderful team members, clients and communities who have contributed to this decade-long journey.

It is an honour to be part of transformative times in our clients’ real estate journeys, and we express our heartfelt thanks to all those who have entrusted us with the sale and management of their homes over the years.
