Put
simply, 38 year old Peter Baldwin, Richardson & Wrench’s Chief Auctioneer
is widely recognised as being Australia’s premier property Auctioneer. He
is clearly one of the most gifted auctioneers the industry has seen and is acknowledged
as having the most intelligent, articulate and purposeful auction delivery of
any auctioneer in his field. He is the youngest Auctioneer of all time to
auction Sydney Real Estate and when he was appointed Chief Auctioneer for Richardson
& Wrench, at the age of 24, Peter set another record as the youngest ever
Chief Auctioneer in the Sydney property market.
As a third generation property
practitioner, Peter has a sound rural pedigree in the Auctioneering field. His
grandfather, Mark, was known for his ethics, forthrightness and sincerity in dealing
with clients. His father, Brian is doubtless one of the finest Auctioneers ever
to swing the gavel and his inimitable style is revered throughout NSW.
Peter
began calling horse races in far north-west NSW and southern Queensland at the
age of 15. At 18 he was auctioning fat sheep and cattle in the tough world of
the Inverell saleyards. This invaluable experience which continued throughout
his Hawkesbury days gave him excellent training in thinking on his feet, administering
clear diction and varying the speed and tone of his delivery.
Peter commands
impeccable formal credentials in the discipline of Real Estate. He holds a Bachelor
of Business in Land Economy, majoring in Valuation, and is an accredited Licensed
Auctioneer, Real Estate Agent, Stock and Station Agent and Registered Valuer.
As
part of Richardson & Wrench’s service to its vendors, Peter visits every
property to be auctioned. He remains in close contact with the sales consultant
in charge of the property and establishes with him or her how the auction should
be run to achieve the best results.
Over the past 16 years, Peter has auctioned
over 19,000 properties with a value in excess of $6 Billion. His highly polished,
concise and well researched auction delivery, juxtaposed with an ability to excite
and add thrust to bidding, has seen him as Sydney’s choice auctioneer for
iconic, elite or high profile properties.
He
possesses an 80% “under the hammer” national domination of the $6
million plus residential market. His most recent record breaking achievements
include $8.32 million for a home in Rose Bay, $8 million for a residence in Wolseley
Road, Point Piper, $7.56 million for an Edgecliff Road, Woollahra property, $7.4
million for a home in Coolong Road, Vaucluse, $7.13 million for a waterfront home
in Northbridge, $5.36 million for a Louisa Road, Birchgrove property, $6.425 million
for a home in Cutler Road, Clontarf and $5.65 million for an apartment in First
Point, Noosa Heads.
Moreover, in a 4 year period in a tough property market
he sold under the hammer four harbour front residential properties for in excess
of $6 million each, three of which topped $6.5 million, a feat no other auctioneer
has accomplished in the Sydney marketplace. In every price bracket, in any area,
for all walks of life, Peter is relentless in his pursuit of the highest and best
price for his vendor.
