One Friday afternoon my colleagues and I gathered for our fortnightly collaborative team session. The task for this particular session was to choose a question from the jar at random, read it allowed and then share your answer with the group. It was my turn. "Who do you admire and why?" Without hesitation I began to share my answer. I admire my dad. The way he is so proud of his family and especially his wife Angie. She makes his soul glow. His pride carries through to his work. He values his colleagues and works efficiently with his team. He is a born leader but a teacher too. He revels in watching people achieve their dreams knowing he too has worked hard to fulfil his. Having owned several businesses around Mandurah he has built himself, and Angie, a reputation as a successful business person but also a well respected mate. The thing with dad is he truly wants to help. He wants you to make the right decision and gets just as much enjoyment out each sale as his clients knowing that they have bought a home, not just a house. That's the thing with dad, he cuts to the point and is honest in his execution of life both personally and professionally. The overlap is inevitable because he puts his heart into his businesses because he wants to be the best for you and the best for the team. He is a doer, not a gunna-doer.
