Simon is the son of a stock and station agent from Minyip in the wheat plains of the Wimmera region in Victoria. He starting working with his father’s business in 1976 and then progressed to a major Melbourne based Rural property sales specialists firm called Griffiths King and Rice which became Pat Rice and Hawkins until 1987. In 1988 he partnered with his brother Shane to begin McIntyre Brothers based in Collins street Melbourne selling rural properties around Victoria and Southern NSW until 1992 when the company was bought by Gippsland and Northern, which became Dalgety in the same year. He started a role as State Manager for Real Estate in SA in 1993 and has been with the company since that time actively involved with sales of rural properties throughout South Australia, Northern Territory and Broken Hill regions. He has been an Auctioneer since 1976 having conducted his first furniture auction at 15 years of age (not Licenced) under the guidance of my father an auctioneer himself for 47 years.
